When a child is diagnosed with a life threatening or terminal illness Rainbow Trust provides a helping hand, a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on when things get tough. Our families tell us that we give them the strength to carry on. This practical and emotional support is provided through respite breaks at our two houses and care in the families’ own homes. Licensed Trade Charity - Registered Charity Number 230011The Licensed Trade Charity is founded on a long and successful history of care for over 200 years. It provides support to those working in, or retired from, the licensed drinks trade from brewery to bar staff whose lives have reached crisis. The charities support ranges from helping those affected by illness such as cancer, to supporting families with disabled children or people facing homelessness or poverty in old age. This assistance takes the form of one-off financial support through to regular allowances and totals around £1 million per year.

Changes in circumstances effect all family members and the result of the LTC's assistance to parents can often be a more stable home for their children. The LTC also directly assists the children of the licensed trade in a variety of ways - from with help in funding for disability equipment to helping support children who have lost their parents. 2009 is a particularly important year for the LTC as it opens a new school in West Sussex, for children with autism and communication difficulties to help them achieve their full potential in life and society.

The XLP Research Trust - Registered Charity Number 1111075
To have one child with a life taking condition is bad enough, but to have multiple brothers and cousins with such a condition is absolutely devastating.

X-Linked Lymphoproliferative Syndrome (XLP) is a rare, always fatal inherited disease that only affects boys. 70% of boys with XLP die by the age of 10 years without treatment. Today the only possible cure is a bone marrow transplant – in effect replacing the faulty immune system. But only 30% of XLP sufferers can find a suitable bone marrow donor, so for the charity one of its key roles is to promote and fund medical research into the cause, management and potential cure for the disease. The charity also acts as a support group for XLP affected families across the world.
